Bushcanoe Trip 2023

Combining a great canoe experience with very real bushcraft skills

Participants experienced an inspirational adventure in the stunning Ardnamurchan region on the West Coast of Scotland. The trip combined the thrill of paddling through breathtaking scenery with the opportunity to apply a range of wilderness and bushcraft skills in a truly wild environment.

Throughout the week, attendees received expert paddling tuition from Level 3 coach Dan Crawford, supported by Level 2 coach Pete Morton, as they journeyed across both tidal and inland lochs. Most nights were spent wild camping, adding to the immersive nature of the experience. Alongside the paddling, the group explored real-world bushcraft applications - learning how to read the landscape, establish low-impact fires, and source natural materials and food. The course catered to individuals with a general level of fitness and a desire for adventure, with those bringing prior experience able to deepen their skills and understanding even further.
